Mike Burkland

President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Mike Burkland is a seasoned executive with a proven ability to drive growth and bring strategic focus and operational excellence to high growth technology companies. Mike most recently ran the Strategic Advisory Practice at ICN. ICN is the leading firm in its field, specializing in providing leadership and strategic advisory to high technology companies. While at ICN, he worked with multiple companies to successfully execute corporate strategies and operational improvements. In the 11 years prior to joining ICN, Mike was CEO of a handful of enterprise software and SaaS companies in market segments ranging from systems management and content management to security and CRM, and has led three private companies through successful acquisitions by larger public companies. He holds MBA and BA degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.


Jim Dvorkin

Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

Jim Dvorkin is responsible for development, product management, network operations, and customer support efforts at Five9. Prior to joining Five9, Dvorkin most recently headed up salesforce.com's call center initiative that resulted in that company's recent Winter '07 product announcements in this area. Previously he served as CTO for Echopass, an on-demand host of Genesys-based contact center solutions. He was also the founding CTO of White Pajama (now Contactual), an early provider of contact center solutions for small businesses. Earlier in his career, Dvorkin was CTO and co-founder of NextAge Technologies, a developer of workforce management solutions. Prior to that, he held various technical positions at Genesys, a pioneer in the field of computer telephony integration. He was a technical director and he managed the deployment of Genesys solutions for all four French telecommunications providers and many large financial institutions. Dvorkin holds a master's degree in Computer Science from the State University of Lithuania.


Bob Murphy

Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Bob Murphy brings more than 25 years of experience to his role of vice president and CFO of Five9. Bob has extensive experience in managing early stage companies in rapid growth and turnaround environments, and has built successful companies through his expertise in general management, strategic planning, raising capital and financial management. Most recently, he served as CFO of Ventaso, Inc, a software and professional services company. While there, he raised $30M in funding, helped refocus the business model to sell enterprise solutions to Fortune 1000 companies and served as interim COO. Before Ventaso, Bob held vice president and C-level positions at several telecommunications companies, twice appearing on The Inc. 500, an annual listing of America's 500 fastest growing privately held companies. Bob began his career as an investment banker with Birr, Wilson & Co. in San Francisco, where he specialized in advising and raising capital for emerging growth companies. He holds a BA in Philosophy from Washington College in Maryland and an MBA from the UCLA Graduate School of Management.


Dan Burkland

Senior Vice President, Enterprise Sales & Business Development

Dan is responsible for all sales and business development activities for the enterprise and mid-markets for Five9. He has a strong track-record and over 20 years of experience building successful sales organizations for contact center and other voice applications companies. Prior to Five 9, Dan was SVP of Sales at Transera Communications, an on-demand hosted contact center solution provider, where he and his team focused on enterprise and outsourcer sales. Before that, Dan ran world-wide sales for IP Unity, provider of carrier-hosted Unified Communications (UC) and conferencing solutions. Dan built and managed a world-wide sales team for direct and channels while growing the business 10-fold during his 4 years with the Company. Dan also held sales management positions at Cisco and GeoTel (prior to its acquisition by Cisco) focusing on their contact center applications and other VoIP solutions. He holds a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from California State University, Chico.


Homero Salinas

Vice President of North American Sales

Homero Salinas has over six years of experience in the hosted call center industry. Prior to joining Five9, he led the sales efforts for Contactual, a competitor in the On-Demand call center business. Prior to entering the hosted technology industry, Salinas worked for 12 years as an investment advisor for such firms Lehman Brothers, UBS and Roth Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from California State University Long Beach. With proven experience selling on-demand call center solutions, Salinas brings more than 10 years of experience to the position, and will be responsible for managing and growing the sales force, as well as the pre-sales systems engineering organization.


David Van Everen

Vice President of Product Management

With more than 10 years of experience delivering market-leading call center solutions, David Van Everen leads all product management initiatives at Five9. Prior to joining Five9, Van Everen was a Director of Product Management at Genesys Telecommunications, where he led multiple product management and development teams spanning workforce optimization, call routing, multimedia and web interactions, CRM and ERP integrations, enterprise workflow, unified communications, and vertical solutions. With extensive call center expertise, Van Everen has written several articles on call center topics that are still in publication today, and has co-authored a patent. He holds a B.F.A. in Painting from California College of the Arts in the San Francisco Bay Area.


Marissa Ramsey

Vice President of Customer Success

Marissa Ramsey brings over 12 years of call center domain knowledge to this position. Prior to Five9, Ramsey worked at Contactual where she held leadership positions in sales engineering, professional services, account activations and technical support. Ramsey began her career in call center operations, where she opened, staffed and maintained blended call center environments servicing customers in the financial industry. Ramsey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University San Francisco. An experienced customer support professional, Ramsey is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the customer experience at Five9 including implementation, training, provisioning and customer support.


Todd C. Eby

Vice President of Professional Services

With over 15 years of call center consulting experience, Eby brings a wealth of industry knowledge and best practices to the Five9 Professional Services organization. Prior to joining Five9, Eby was Director of Product Development at Genesys Telecommunications, where he led the product management and development teams focused on next-generation and strategic solutions. Prior to his role in Product Development, Eby held multiple leadership positions in sales engineering and professional services. Eby began his career in call center operations, where he designed, implemented and maintained call center environments servicing customers in the financial services sector. Eby holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Oakland University.


Sam Shkrabov

Vice President of Product Development

Sam Shkrabov is responsible for architecture and design of all major capabilities of the Five9's on-demand virtual call center service, the Five9 Virtual Call Center. Shkrabov has a proven track record in software development, with more than 20 years of experience in the position. Before Five9, Shkrabov held management positions in software engineering for early stage communication firm, Zultys Technologies, and the pioneer in the call center field, Genesys Telecommunications, where he developed next generation IP-based contact center solutions. Prior to moving to the United States Shkrabov worked as a software and hardware engineer in Moscow, Russia for eleven years. He holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Moscow Academy of Oil and Gas Technology.


Mark Sigal

Vice President of Release Engineering and QA

Mark Sigal, the former VP of Engineering at Zultys Technologies, has over 25 years of engineering management and software development experience. Prior to Zultys, Sigal worked for Zarak System (acquired by Spirent Communications) as the director of software development where he played an important leadership role in the architectural design and implementation of the Zarak's telephony testing equipment. Sigal began his career working in a variety of R&D and engineering positions in Russia. An experienced engineering professional, Sigal is responsible for overseeing the testing of new product releases and organizing engineering activities associated with rolling out new functionality in the Five9 Virtual Call Center. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Moscow, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Technical University, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.


Slava Kritov

Vice President of Operations

Slava Kritov brings a wealth of knowledge and over 15 years of experience in application delivery, scalable data center operations and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Prior to joining Five9, Slava was a Technical Director for the Symantec Advanced Technology Group working on technology evaluations for merger/acquisition and OEM licensing, strategic partnership projects, and research in networking, content aware storage and application performance management. Slava also spent 6 years leading multiple technology teams at Genesys Telecommunications, helping to pioneer the CTI industry in the late 1990s. Early in his career, Slava helped Apple establish a presence in Ukraine and later contributed to a United Nations project that provided free internet access to people in need. Slava graduated from PhysTech (Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology) with an MS in Management and Applied Mathematics.
