Mike Burkland
Chairman, Five9
Mike Burkland joined Five9 as CEO in January 2008. Under Mike’s leadership as CEO for nearly 10 years, Five9 grew from an 80-person startup with $10 million in annual revenue to an 800-person public company with $200 million in annual revenue. Today Five9 is one of the largest and fastest growing independent providers of cloud contact center software. In December of 2017 Mike transitioned from CEO to Executive Chairman for health reasons.
Before Five9, Mike was the CEO of a handful of enterprise software and cloud companies in market segments ranging from systems management and content management to security and CRM. He has also led three private companies through successful acquisitions by larger public companies. Earlier in his career, he held various positions at Oracle and BMC. Mike holds MBA and BA degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.
Mike’s management philosophy is based on creating a team-oriented environment. In Mike’s view, building a successful company is analogous to building a winning sports franchise. It requires top talent, the right playbook and most importantly great team chemistry.
Rowan Trollope
Chief Executive Officer, Five9
Rowan Trollope is CEO of Five9, a leading provider of cloud contact center software for the enterprise. Rowan is passionate about how digital transformation revolutionizes the way we communicate, in particular how organizations bring personalized experiences to their customers. He joined Five9 as CEO in May 2018.
Rowan is a recognized Silicon Valley leader and has a depth of experience in software solutions and cloud innovation. He is a self-proclaimed geek and taught himself to program on a Commodore 64 at a local Radio Shack and holds a number of patents in computer security and operating systems.
Prior to Five9, Rowan was SVP and General Manager of Cisco’s Applications Group and a member of the executive leadership team. Under Rowan’s leadership he refreshed the entire collaboration technology portfolio, simplifying the product line and winning over 20 awards for outstanding product design.
Prior to Cisco, at Symantec he was Group President sales, marketing, and product development, responsible for cloud security and the SMB market. He developed and grew the company’s Software as a Service strategy and expanded their cloud-based delivery and customer support models.
David Welsh
Partner, KKR
Dave Welsh (Menlo Park) is a Partner and is Head of TMT Growth Equity within KKR's Private Equity platform, where he serves on the TMT growth equity investment committee. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Welsh was a Partner with Adams Street Partners, where he focused on technology growth equity investments. Earlier in his career he was Executive Vice President of corporate development and strategy at McAfee, Inc., a General Partner at Partech Ventures and vice president of corporate development at Portal Software. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cherwell, Five9, ForgeRock, iValua and OneStream. He is also a Board Member of SEO Scholars SF and the Special Olympics of Northern Calif & Nevada, and is the Chair Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of the Athenian School. He holds a B.A., cum laude, from UCLA and a JD, order of the coif, from UC Berkeley and Harvard Law Schools.
Michael J. Burdiek
Michael J. Burdiek has served as the president and chief executive officer and also as a member of the Board of Directors of CalAmp since 2011. From 2006 to 2011, Michael held various positions at CalAmp, a global provider of wireless communications solutions, including president of CalAmp’s Wireless DataCom segment and president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining CalAmp, Michael was the president and CEO of Telenetics Corporation, a manufacturer of data communications products. From 1987 to 2003, Michael held a variety of technical and general management positions with Comarco Inc., most recently as senior vice president and general manager of Comarco's Wireless Test Systems unit. Michael holds a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Fullerton, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University.
Kimberly Alexy
Principal, Alexy Capital Management
Kimberly Alexy is the principal of Alexy Capital Management, a private investment management firm that she founded in 2005. She has more than 20 years of experience in capital markets, corporate finance and investments. Kimberly is a seasoned finance professional and corporate board member and has served on a dozen public company and pre-IPO boards. She previously served as the senior vice president and managing director for Prudential Securities, vice president of equity research at Lehman Brothers and assistant vice president of corporate finance at Wachovia Bank. Kimberly also serves as an active board member at Alteryx, FireEye and Western Digital Corp and has previously served as a board member at CalAmp, Microsemi, Vizio, Dot Hill Systems, Maxtor, Smart Modular Technologies, and Southwest Water Company.
Jack Acosta
Jack Acosta has served in a board role for multiple companies. Previously, Jack served as CFO and vice president of finance for Portal Software. Prior to Portal Software, Jack served as executive vice president and CFO as well as vice president, engineering services, integration, and business management for Sybase, Inc. Jack was also the president, COO, and a director of Tanon Manufacturing, Inc. Prior to these assignments, Jack held various management positions at Ungermann-Bass, Inc., Atari, Inc., Diablo Systems, Inc., and Ford Motor Company.
Dave DeWalt
Dave DeWalt is a veteran CEO, advisor, and investor who has led companies, from startup to the Fortune 500, on a transformational journey of success. Focused on technology and cybersecurity, Dave helped create more than $20 billion of shareholder value during his 15 plus years as president and CEO of three major companies. That includes driving the most successful cybersecurity IPO ever in 2013, and leading the largest all-cash deal in technology history in 2010. Today he serves as the chairman of Momentum Cyber, the managing director of Allegis Cyber, founder of NightDragon, as well as an investor and board member in the world’s most innovative companies such as Delta Airlines, Five9, ForeScout, Phantom Cyber, CallSign, Claroty, Team8, DataTribe, Illusive Networks, and Optiv. Dave has substantial expertise in the information technology security industry and, with his strategic and operational experience, provides counsel to some of the leading companies in the space. Dave was named one of the 25 most influential executives in high technology by the readers of the industry publication CRN. He has spoken at the World Economic Forum on the issue of cybersecurity and keynoted at several technology industry conferences including Interop and Software 2008 and RSA. He is an alumnus of the University of Delaware.
Robert Zollars
Over the past thirty five years, Robert Zollars has led eleven healthcare and technology companies as President or CEO, ranging in size from $100M to over $5B in revenue. These companies include venture, private equity and publicly traded businesses. His most recent experiences included Chairman and CEO of Vocera, Chairman of Diamond Foods, and Corporate Director of VWR Corporation.
Mr. Zollars currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Frazier Healthcare Partners, and is also a Corporate Director of Change Healthcare, Appian Rx, TCGRX and Kate Farms. He is also a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and is Co-Chair of The Trustee’s of Arizona State University.
Sue Barsamian
Sue Barsamian is a former Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager who brings both a strong business and technical skillset. Having worked in both early stage and Fortune 50 organizations she has operated in a range of roles from sales and marketing to product, R&D and business operations. Barsamian spent the last 10 years of her 35 year operating career at Hewlett Packard across a range of executive roles including Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for HPE Software ($3B) and General Manager of the Enterprise Security Products business ($1B). Earlier in her career she held leadership positions at Mercury Interactive and Verity, Inc. where she was based in London for four years. Sue’s focus as a Board Director is on helping high growth enterprise software, SaaS and cybersecurity companies as they scale. Sue serves as a board member at Box Inc. (NYSE: BOX), NortonLifeLock Inc. (NASDAQ: NLOK, formerly Symantec) and several private companies including Auth0 Inc., Gainsight Inc. and Xactly Corp. She also served on the board of Segment Inc. which was sold in Nov 2020 to Twilio for $3.2B.
Ana Pinczuk
Ana Pinczuk is the Chief Development Officer at Anaplan where she drives the Product Management and Engineering teams responsible for Anaplan’s product roadmap, software and technology engineering deliverables, and cloud platform. She is also responsible for Customer Care and IT.
Prior to Anaplan, Ana was President and General Manager for HPE Pointnext, HPE’s $7B+ services business where she led a team of 25,000 IT experts responsible for driving customer’s digital transformation journeys, including Hybrid IT and Intelligent edge consulting, professional and operational services. Previously, Ana held leadership positions at Veritas, where she was Chief Product Officer, and Cisco, where she spent 14 years in various roles including SVP, Global Services Sales, Services COO and SVP, Global Services Support.
Ana is on the board of Aptiv (APTV) and on the Board of Trustees for Cornell University. She is also a member of the International Women’s Forum, Latino Donor Collaborative, and Carnegie Mellon Engineering Advisory Board.
