2023 Five9 Summer Intern Spotlight Series: Jordan Curtis

This summer Five9 welcomed 14 new interns to bring exciting fresh perspectives and ideas. They have contributed to their teams in valuable ways while gaining knowledge and incredible insights from leadership. Our internship program provides just the right mix of challenges and excitement. We encourage our interns to develop new skills and connect them with leaders across multiple departments to maximize their opportunities to learn. We can’t wait to see what our interns accomplish for the rest of the summer!
To recognize our 2023 intern class, we are excited to highlight a few of them for National Intern Day on July 27th and shed some light on their experiences thus far. Meet, Jordan Curtis, a sales operations intern eager to share more about his internship experience!
Jordan joined the sales team this summer as an Associate Territory Management Analyst on the operations team under sales efficiency. He provides the sales team with critical data and metrics that help enable their success and produce higher quarterly earnings. His team plays a key role in keeping the sales team organized and efficient.
Jordan’s educational background prepared him well for his role in sales. He graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in business administration with a concentration in management. Through his studies he found a passion for business and analytics, leading him to pursue his current role at Five9!
He knew Five9 was the perfect fit for him this summer because he admired our company values and culture. At Five9 we value teamwork and prioritize having a positive work environment. Our mission to create powerful customer connections and transform the contact center resonated with him and compelled him to join the team!
Thus far, Jordan feels like his internship has gone above and beyond to prepare him for his career. He says, “I do feel like Five9 has prepared me for my career so far. I think the first thing that I am truly grateful for is the networking opportunities.” He enjoys being able to connect with fellow interns each day and learn about their projects and experiences. He appreciates the Intern Speaker Series, which allows interns to communicate with employees across many different departments. They give interns the opportunity to learn from each of their unique experiences. In addition to networking, Jordan believes that his internship has enhanced his ability to confidently use tools like Salesforce and Excel. He appreciates the guidance his manager provides him to help him be successful.
At Five9 we value our employees and encourage each person to be active in our community. From company events to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), we offer many ways for people to feel connected with one another. Jordan shares, “There are so many opportunities within Five9 to be active within the community. I see myself participating in company events, joining and being active in ERGs, and overall being an active member of the community. I feel Five9 values all interns because of the many opportunities that they offer each one of us to feel welcome.”
Jordan’s favorite aspect of the intern program so far is the work environment. He loves visiting the office and being able to establish in-person connections with the people he works with. He values the opportunity to meet with speakers and absorb the knowledge they share. He is excited to continue his journey with Five9 this summer learning new things and establishing meaningful connections.
