A little over a year after coming on board and expanding Five9's channel partner program, I'm pleased to announce that Wendell Black has been recognized by Channel Reseller News (CRN) as a 2017 Channel Chief.
Every year, CRN identifies channel executives who consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies. Those that made the list were chosen by CRN editors based on their track record of channel accomplishments, standing in the industry, dedication to the partner community and plans for driving future business innovation and channel growth.
Given the criteria, it's no surprise that Wendell has been included alongside channel executives from companies like VMware, Oracle and New Relic. He has ensured that the Five9 Virtual Contact Center (VCC) has been made readily available to partners and their customers on a national and global level. In fact, under Wendell's direction, Five9 doubled the volume of partner related business in the first 9 months of 2016.
Beyond that, he is spreading the vision we all have regarding the cloud - standing by the fact that as more enterprises begin to move their contact center technology to the cloud, we will continue to enable more partners to provide the best cloud-based contact center solution on the market.
Wendell and the channel team have recently added Westcon, Advantel, Carousel, and ICQ24 to the Five9 program. But we know he's not done yet. His commitment to his work at Five9 is unparalleled.
